The people behind Loungelover and Les Trois Garcons bring their perfectly mixed cocktails and outlandishly rich decor to the West End. Annex 3 serves modern European food with a Japanese twist, and looks set to become one of London's most talked about bars and restaurants.
The fact that the name of this West End sibling of east London’s Loungelover is meant to be pronounced as ‘Annex Trois’ speaks volumes about what to expect: you’ll either find it drop-dead gorgeous or jaw-droppingly pretentious. It’s an undeniably stunning looking space – gold banquettes, flamboyantly patterned wallpaper, hip furniture & a working Meccano installation – that could double as a glitzy furniture showroom. Food is available – teriyaki salmon, Peking duck. A wittily put-together cocktail list includes sections devoted to drinks made with herbs, spices & flowers: try the Eastern Promise (Sputnik rose petal vodka shaken with lychee liqueur & puree & served with a squeeze of lime): Turkish Delight with a kick.
