Acquired a major share of Lion Nathan Ltd and established a business foundation in Oceania and Asia region.

Agreed to invest in Philippines' San Miguel Corporation and will create a strong business franchise in Asia/Oceania region together with Lion Nathan Ltd.

In line with it's Worldwide status Kirin Ichiban bccomes Kirin's flagship beer around the World.

Kirin Europe licensed North Wind Distribution Ltd to brew and package Kirin Ichiban for Russia
